Cross the bridge when it comes...
This idiom used by most people, is it a rule to live by, an occasional lifeline, or just an excuse to procrastinate?
Let's admit, life does throw up challenges. Some mild, some worrisome, some serious. And with the ball in your court, you are expected to tackle it.
And that's when our different ways of handling pressure comes to the fore.
Some take the bull by the?horns, some start dodging, and some just prefer to close their eyes.
In tough situations, most of us seem to avoid swallowing the frog and delay it to fight another day.?But the sword keeps hanging, worrying, taking its toll on our confidence, demeanour, and drive.
On the?other hand, it's prudent when you evaluate the situation and realise that there's nothing much??you can do about it. Rather than brooding and worrying, you don't let it upset?you, or deter you from what you can do.
This makes you sure, determined and aware. You know you haven't dodged, but delayed to fight a better battle.
When you practice, crossing the bridge when it comes, you realise that the bridge isn't there at all. You have to make one yourself.
That's when you wish you had started earlier.
