Executives from Crocs and Skechers were upbeat about their respective brand's perfomance going into 2023 during sessions at the UBS Global Consumer and Retail Conference.
“The quarter is off to a great start,” said Crocs CEO?Andrew Rees . “And 2023, while there is much uncertainty in front of us, is also off to a great start. That great start is really driven a lot by innovation and new product introductions.”
“Since mid-holiday the consumer has been pretty robust,” said Skechers CFO John Vandemore. “We continue to see really strong consumer trends.”
After connecting with Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design (PLC) founder D’Wayne Edwards last year, foot scanning technology company Aetrex revealed it has entered into a partnership with the higher education institution.

Aetrex said it met with Edwards in late 2022 to discuss how its foot scanning technology could help shoe designers create better fitting and functioning footwear. After discussing the college’s needs, according to Aetrex, a partnership was formed and the foot scanning technology company donated its premier 3D foot scanner Albert 2 Pro to the school.
After the donation was made, Aetrex said PLC students started to explore the technology’s capabilities in a course with New Balance, and in the program they scanned the feet of five athletes to analyze and categorize shoe styles for better-fitting footwear designs.
WalkingCo, the multibrand retailer formerly known as The Walking Company, relaunched its Abeo footwear brand this month with a product overhaul, branding refresh and comprehensive digital experience update.
The move comes after several years of upheaval at the company. The Walking Company?emerged from bankruptcy?in 2018. It struggled to maintain its mainly brick-and-mortar business through the pandemic and was acquired out of auction two years ago by a group of investors led by Richard Kayne. The new ownership closed the company's stores and shifted to an online-only sales model, though it continued to produce the Abeo collection.
Abeo had been a strong performer for The Walking Company since it first debuted in 2010.

1 年John Vandemore, I have encounter a horrible customer experience in Sketchers Malaysia. I bought a kids school shoe on for my standard 1 son. There is a defect or a steel protrude on top of the black school shoe. This has cause a blister and abrasion on the right ankle of my 7 year old son. I have also approach one of Sketchers shop assistant, and he also validate that it is a valid complaint. After contacting Sketchers Malaysia to ask for a repair or exchange on the right side of the shoe, and they have asked me for all the photos, proof of payment, where is the nearest Sketchers shop. I have complied all, but they reply me yesterday and advise my son to wear a sock or plaster to avoid the blister and abrasion. What kind of advice is that? They don't even ask me to send to their headquarters to verify my claim and by looking at the photos, they just rejected my complaint, and expect my son to bear the irritation throughout the year. I'm very unhappy and disappointed with the service provided by Sketchers Malaysia. Please help me to extend my message to Robert Greenberg, Michael Greenberg and David Weinberg. I will wait for your reply at [email protected]
