Identify dependencies between tasks—those that must be completed sequentially and those that can be performed concurrently. This step lays the foundation for constructing the project network diagram.

Assign relationships between activities to ensure that each activity is linked to its predecessors and successors. This step is crucial for accurately determining the critical path and understanding the flow of work throughout the project.

Determine the earliest start and finish times, as well as the latest start and finish times, for each activity using forward and backward pass calculations.
