A 5-Question Script to Transform Doubts.


Are you still living by what your mom used to say?


Ever been in one of those moods when self-doubt creeps in?

And then maybe someone comes along and reminds you of all the great qualities, and all the great things going for you?


Suddenly, the clouds part, and you feel a little more like taking on the world—or at least the next step towards brighter future?


Guess what?

You don’t have to wait for someone else to cheer you up.

YOU can be your cheerleader.



Who’s voice is this anyway? Yours? Are you sure? ??

Your inner dialogue is like a playlist you’ve been listening to your whole life.

A mix of what you’ve heard from your parents, older siblings, peers and mentors from all walks of life.

You don’t just inherit the genes - you get some “records” along with the hardware??


The kicker???

—for the most part, YOU were not the one choosing the songs!

(Kind of like sharing stereo with your older sister. Years later you still find yourself tapping your feet to the songs of your sister’s teenage obsession)


How wild is that???

Confidence: The Power of Questions

“The quality of your life is the quality of your questions.”

And he’s spot on far ahead of his time!


When doubts start creeping in, the right questions will make all the difference.

Let’s have a real-life walkthrough to use questions to build your confidence when you’re feeling smaller, less capable, or less empowered.


1. Question It Like a Skeptic ???♂?

A doubt pops up:

“I’ll never be able to build the impactful business I dream of like the people I admire.”


Ask yourself, “Is this true?

Is this based on real-world data, facts, or some unbreakable law of physics?

Spoiler alert: it’s not.


2. Zoom Out and See the Bigger Picture ??

Ask, “What else could be true?


That I CAN indeed do it just like many people before.

Remember that 4-minute mile?

The people I admire started from scratch. They had humble beginnings. They weren’t born with some special something I lack. It’s possible.

Why not me?


3. Re-Focus Your Lens On the Outcome ??

Ask, “Is this thought serving me?

Is the perspective you’re choosing to focus on helping you achieve your goals? If not, why keep it around?

It’s like taking advice from a stranger who has no idea where you’re going, or what serves you well (and probably living by outdated mom-and-dad's record)


4. Control the Controllables - Bend the Odds in YOUR Favor ??

Ask, “What action can I take to make my success more likely?

Can you build the necessary skills?

Seek advice from those who’ve done it before?

Try a couple of things you haven’t tried before?


Absof*ckinlutely.


You’ve learned, improved, and figured things out before.

Why would this be any different?


5. Seal It with Action ?

Finally, ask, “What action can I take NOW to get a bit closer to the future I want?


Then do it.

Make the call, ask the question, make an offer.


Behavioral activation is a fancy term for this: when you take action, fear fades.


The real purpose of this exercise, or any confidence-boosting activity, is to turn doubt into action. That action brings you closer to your goals and doubts become irrelevant.

Your Inner Dialogue: From Critic to Coach



Remember, your inner dialogue wasn’t really yours to begin with.

So treat it like advice from a stranger with unknown intentions, or a record you never chose to enjoy.


Question it. Challenge it. Change the track.


Once you see progress, those doubts will be irrelevant.

After all, the best way to boost confidence and certainty is to build a track record of “DONE?”
