Very interesting scenario. A couple things, one is how if an org has a solid plan in place and the team knows their roles and plays their parts there can be a positive outcome. I fer most have no plan and can't guarantee an agile and responsive united front. Another is how leaders can get prideful and stubborn instead of apologizing quickly by falling on their sword publicly, they circle the wagons and dig in by resisting, thereby making things worse by hoping it will go away. The impulse to ignore an issue until its too late makes any later contrition feel insincere. Last is how a plan can be undone by the sheer speed of an event being magnified on social media, like the reactions to recent stabbings in Southport England where disinfo made a tragedy worse.
