Noah Weisbord, a law professor at Queens University, worked on the committee that defined the crime of aggression (previously called (the crime against peace”) that is now an enforceable international law. A ruler who starts a war can be personally arrested, tried, and imprisoned. In this hour-long video, Noah and I discuss this historic achievement, and the challenge of combining forgiveness with justice. Much of his book deals with the work of one remarkable man, Benjamin Ferencz, who while in his twenties prosecuted Nazi war criminals.
