CrickIT series: How the Game of SW is played
As a follow-on to my previous article, I was planning to write an article to explain why you need All Rounders to boost Quality (AR->Q). However unicast discussions with peers prompted me to take this detour. So here I’m summarizing how Game of SW is played in the language of Cricket {CrickIT}:
Game of SW starts on domestic pitch (Lab) using Ball (Testplan), Bat (SW) and Wicket (Product). In between, coach tries to arrange few opportunities to help team practice on foreign pitches (PoCs). Game goes ON & ON until there is enough on scoreboard to declare GA. Unique thing about this game is that everyone ends up on the same side once it's over.
Post GA, several games start on foreign pitches (mostly parallel) with huge amount of prize money (revenue) riding on them. Interestingly enough, team composition changes altogether for these set of games. Following table depicts the team composition at various stages of SW lifecycle:
