CREWS ARE PREPPING FOR SPRING
E.A. Quinn Landscape Contracting LLC
Connecticut's premier landscape maintenance, design and installation experts.
Although it probably still feels like it's an eternity away, we are just 7 weeks out from the first day of spring. The days are getting longer and that means our crews are prepping for landscape maintenance season. We are hiring new crew members, purchasing additional equipment, and training our staff so that every client is given the "E.A. Quinn Experience". Here are some of the ways we are getting ready to serve our commercial clients. ?
HIRING STAFF AND UPDATING EQUIPMENT
We are preparing for spring by retraining existing crews on best practices and some of the new industry trends. We are also hiring new team members, servicing existing equipment and purchasing new equipment. Finding the right team to take care of our commercial properties takes time. We want to be ready to tend to our clients on Day 1 of the season. And, although we are always thoroughly servicing and updating our equipment, now is the time to purchase additional mowers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and fertilizers to make sure we are fully equipped to handle all of our clients' needs.
TRAINING NEW TEAM MEMBERS
Once we've hired new team members, they're brought up to speed about the "E.A. Quinn Experience" so they understand what is expected while they're working on commercial properties. We outline our clients' expectations and what it takes to become an E.A. Quinn crew member (i.e. professionalism, safety, and work ethic). This is a continual process and is reinforced consistently through our weekly tail gate meetings and other trainings. Did you know we have a 90% retention rate of returning staff? We also have 35 different crews. In addition to our winter work of snow removal and pruning of trees and landscape, our new and existing members are updated on the latest trends in the industry. They are also completing or renewing certifications in OSHA 10 and CDL.
OUR CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PHILOSOPHY
This time of year is considered our "down time" (although we are still busy doing what it takes to make sure our business runs seamlessly). During this time, we breakdown what worked well over the last year, what systems need to be improved, and then we take a look at how to streamline the process. This is important to us because it means we are always trying to enhance the client experience. We work daily to create an atmosphere that leads to success, but we can always do better. Our "Continuous Improvement Philosophy" is how we make things better for our team and our clients.
HERE'S THE BUZZ
"I could not be happier with your team's job on snow removal this morning at my drive through parking lot and other areas. Your crews cleared the snow right to the edges, placed snow piles in strategic places and there is no excessive ice melt or rock salt. Plus, the communication from Derrick was AWESOME! I never had to guess or wonder what was happening on the property during the storm."
