ON CREDULITY

Once bewildered by COVID’s origin, lockdowns, and restrictions, many have gone on to embrace once-contentious pronouncements, such as:

#1?– “open debate is a form of violence”

#2?– “meritocracies are racist”

#3?– “biological sex is nothing more than a social construct”

#4?– “‘de-platforming’ is a proper remedy for non-conformity”?

#5?– “American society is comprised of oppressors and victims”?

#6?– “re-education (what to think) > education (how to think)”

#7?– “government > nuclear families”

#8?– “race & gender > i) character, ii) competence, and iii) commitment”?

#9?– “equal outcomes for some > equal opportunity for all”

#10 – “feelings > facts; narratives > Truth; ‘equity’ > excellence”

#11 – “diversity of identity > diversity of opinion”

#12 – “CRT > STEM, AP math, and SATs”??

#13 – “LGBTQIA+ > heterosexuality”?

#14 – “progressivism > classical liberalism or conservatism”

#15 – “intentions > results”

#16 – “BLM > actual black lives”

#17 – “modern society > its antecedents”

#18 – “neo-marxism > capitalism”?

#19 – “‘settled science’ cannot be debated (nor should awkward data be analyzed)”

#20 – “society will heal once those who never owned slaves compensate those?

On most campuses, to question very many of these 20 utopian tenets earns one the label of bigot. By celebrating a combination of i) open borders, ii) defunding the police and iii) ostracizing, cancelling, or “doxxing” unbelievers, those working to transform America have been energized.?

As perplexity opens the floodgates to credulity, a loss of trust becomes contagion. With few daring to examine the implications of this soft revolution, Americans are beginning to discover what much of the world already knew about government.
