Credit Cards vs BNPL: Similarities / Differences

According to Bloomberg Research: "BNPL’s sales volume could top $181 billion by 2022 from $93 billion in 2020, growing more than 40% a year."

BNPL is a big think and apparently it is going to grow further. Yet I see that there are some question marks about the BNPL. Especially when it is compared with credit cards, some consumers see BNPL like an "old dog with a new trick".
