Creator Economy Reshapes Marketing Strategy
This Monday morning, I was pouring myself a cup of coffee, missing my WFH power naps when I chanced upon an advertisement on the notice board that said “Learn to create and sell content (books, ebooks, videos, blogs etc) just at Rs. 700. Hurry up! Register now.” I laughed while a fellow Marketing Manager asked me what happened. I asked, shouldn’t they post this in the interns’ section? ‘’ Why would the department heads need this? To which he answered, “Good Morning! Lady, Upskilling is the need of the hour and haven’t you noticed the trend that content creator marketing has brought in.”
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must have noticed that the creator economy has been reshaping traditional marketing strategies in numerous ways. There is a list that we need to know about and adhere to, to survive in the market and reach the target audience on the right medium at the right time. And, some of these strategies are:
1. Quality, Dynamics & Repurpose
In this era of competition, it is mandatory to deliver the best to your audience, be consistent in the delivery timelines and also repurpose your content creation based on the platform and the delivery timelines.
2. Tracking and Evaluation
Track the reach of your creative content through available metrics and evaluate the impact of the content to create a dynamic list of platforms and content patterns that is to be reworked after regular tracking and evaluation.
3. Keyword Search & Content
Use proper keywords that will get your creative content great visibility and reuse effective content on different free and paid platforms to give the audience what they like.
4. Be Bold & Lead
Following what others are doing and sharing the same content, in the same manner, will not help you lead. Be bold and speak your mind, share your wacky, quirky and crazy ideas. Lead by being different and comprehensive. Answer all the questions related to your brand.
5. Brand Reflection & Statistics
Creating brand reputation or selling is possible only when you create data as yourself, not in a second or third person. Additionally, content without facts or data sounds like babbling toddlers. Share links and Statistics for reference of readers.
I was surprised to know the depth of the impact of Creator Economy on Marketing strategies not only for individual content creators but on the entire industry, and curiously asked for more, that’s when the Director’s assistant sent a message asking everyone to get back to the meeting. And our discussion came to an end. Well, whatever it is, I’ve realized that the Creator Economy has changed the marketing game.
