How can we make our kids eat proper lunch?
Kid’s lunch is important meal of the day. This food is what they eat without supervision and control.

What is good?
A staple food rich in carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals is what is required for the kids for lunch. Fiber content of the food should be high for proper bowel movements.
Fiber softens the stool and increases stool’s overall size and weight. Bulky stools are much easier to pass and therefore prevent constipation.
Fiber helps in achieving fullness and helps to prevent unhealthy snacking by children.

A normal meat pie, meat products and meat bakery products are good lunch option provided they are fresh and well made.
Bakery and meat products should be made and stored with utmost care to make sure that are edible. They can create severe digestive issues otherwise.
Juices canned or otherwise do have preservatives which are not good for human body. They should be completely avoided for kids.
Fresh water or coconut water can be good sources of nourishment and hydration.
A donut, fast-food, and many ready to eat formulas are only good if they are made fresh and are hygienically stored for consumption. Especially for kids.
Kids need food good in carbohydrates, proteins, fiber, fat and minerals for overall growth. Fresh cut fruits, cereals, fresh meat, fresh dairy products should be present in daily lunch or meals.

What can be done? Whats the solution ?
- Foods can be simple yet colorful to make them attractive using fruits and their extract.
- Cook foods like rice, beans, potatoes and the likes in different ways to give variety that children don’t get bored.
- Different types of breads and vary the fillings using eggs, peanut butter, cheese, butter, carrots, cucumber etc.
- Include fruits and vegetables whether as juices, smoothies or simply cut up in fun interesting sizes, colors and patterns.
- We must ask children to participate in the process.
- Children should be part of packing their lunch boxes. It would help their sense of responsibility and confidence.
