Creativity and completer finishing
Creativity and completer finishing form a perfect pair. Thinking and doing in balance. Coming up with ideas, developing them into something that can be delivered and then actually doing it.
But delivering without thinking makes for inefficiency and repeatedly solving the same problems.
Thinking without Delivery and nothing actually gets done.
As a completer finisher applying your completer finisher skills to being more creative will deliver a large volume of ideas. Make creative idea production into a task, applying process and setting the number of ideas needed. Then treat it like any other project, gather resources, set timescales and off you go. Once it is all clear, start creating with freedom.
As a Creator apply some discipline before you start. What are you going to deliver and when? Know what success looks like and map your journey to achieving that the end. Once clear start creating with focus.
As a creator remember timeliness and business need. Solving today’s problem today is more valuable than tomorrow if the moment has passed. No point in coming up with great ideas for a Tender when just before submitting it – but if you do save it for the next one.
This is the last Creativity Newsletter for 2022, so today I'm definitly in completer finisher mode. So it seemed like a great time to have a look back across the year at some of the previous editions and creativity posts produced in 2022. Here are 10 of my favourites.
1. Creativity - needs a little pinch of fun. Newsletter No 1. Of course, fun is where it all starts https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/creativity-needs-little-pinch-fun-charles-tincknell
