The director of X co. has been changed, Y has succeeded him. After 6 months the company is going through losses.

Critical thinking plays a vital role in any decision you make, even if it is just stepping out to buy a packet of milk.
System 1: Fast, instinctive and emotional
You will act as per the situation in the question. You do not have milk, you will without a second's delay wear the mask, and step out to buy the needed commodity. Ignoring the threat of being affected by the pandemic.
System 2: Slower, Deliberative, and layered with technical reasoning.
You will analyze the situation, is it really important to move out, and take the risk of getting infected? or you will rather search for options such as skipping milk for a day or ordering it via any trusted delivery application.
We learn from our mistakes, rather than following a pattern of repetitive error we should go for a counter thinking, if we are in a similar situation from the past we should step back, analyze:
a) What went wrong?
b) How can this be corrected?
c) Are there any examples from the past which could be referred to?
d) Are we prepared for any future failures?
It may or may not fall in place but it will certainly give you a new perspective and a new solution.
