Creative Spotlight #16 ??

Happy Sunday! As you've noticed we've got some exciting updates. I began implementing new fresh graphics. But first, let's get to today's content!

Following last week's reminder of a marketing director, co-founder and producer Kelsie , this time we meet Josef, a talented Prague-based cinematographer. ????

????16th guest

#16 - Josef Kader Agha: Mastering Cinematography At Recognised FAMU in Prague, Czechia

Josef Kader Agha is a Prague based cinematographer, currently studying at the renowned FAMU and working on his way into the industry. A few years ago, Josef moved to London to study film at the university where after trying various roles he found his passion for cinematography . In the second year, Josef participated in Erasmus and moved back to Prague to study at FAMU, one of the oldest and best film schools in the world. There, his interest in cinematography intensified and his goal was to continue developing those specific skills.

?? Lesson from Josef's episode

  • Trust the process

“It was challenging because all of those camera exercises except one were on 16 millimeter film. It's a different experience when you film on film because you don't know what the outcome is going to be. You don't see the image and you really have to be precise in exposure which was a bit stressful at the beginning.”

? Questions worth pondering about:

  • Do you tend to doubt yourself or trust the process?
  • Do you give up if you're uncertain about the outcome or do it anyway?
  • Try to believe in yourself, trust the process, work 100% and see if (and how) it helps!

Next week, there will be a short break next week before releasing a new episode. But don't worry that gives you some time to catch up with the previous episodes, listen to those that you enjoyed the most or take a short break. So check out the links below and pick what you want!

??? Podcast updates:

In the meantime, I'm working on episode #31 and it's going to be really exciting because we've recorded it live! Yes, that's correct. That was another step out of my comfort zone and some extra work but I believe it will be worth it. The guest was a talented 3D animator from London, bringing some great insight into the world of animation and more. Also, I began implementing graphic updates to the podcast across all the channels so feel free to let me know how you like it!

Fun fact: Here's a short explanation if you are wondering why I changed the podcast's title and added "with Tommen". I began using the nickname a few years ago to somehow hide/protect my real name and make the name more memorable. Plus, I think it sounds cool! But where does it come from? The fans of the world from far Westeros know. It indeed comes from a Game of Thrones character King Tommen Baratheon . Not that I would be his big fan but compared to his older brother ... Dracarys! ??

“Productivity isn’t about doing more things—it’s about doing the right things.”

?? Idea worth sharing

Do you have your "to-do list ?" No matter if it's for work, a hobby or something else, I bet you enjoy checking things off. But what about "to-don't list "? Yes, that's correct. As you've most likely guessed right, it consists of tasks and habits that you should avoid. It can be anything from spending too much time on social media, postponing cleaning your room or eating too much cake. You just need to be aware of the habits that bring no good and don't let them get in your way.

You can start simply by thinking of the tasks that you regularly do but they bring you no value. For example, Tim Ferriss , author of The 4-Hour Work Week , uses this method to skip time-consuming email checks and meetings, which leaves him with time for more important activities.

Is work going to be on your list? (Source: clockify.me)

To start, simply write down some activities, actions or habits that you do but that don't align with your values or goals. Then, you can stick it somewhere so that it's on your eyes as a reminder. As a result, you've got more energy on what's the most important and more free time. Do you have already something on your mind that will have its place on the list? Let us know in the comments below!
