Hello Brilliant Teachers!
Welcome to March's Teach Brilliantly newsletter. This semester, I have engaged in several conversations about the current state of student learning. Much of it has been conversations with the central theme that students aren't the same as they used to be. They don't learn like they did before, aren't engaged, or know how to do XYZ. In every conversation, I simply say, you are right!
None of us are the same as we were before. Like everyone, students also evolve and respond to their environment. However, during these conversations, I noticed another theme emerging: an inconsistent understanding of how students learn. Teachers, instructors, and higher education faculty struggle to keep students engaged because some use ineffective teaching strategies.
In this month's blog, Re-engaging the Disengaged Learner, I share a few simple and effective teaching techniques every educator should use in their toolbox. Some are oldies but goodies. All are highly flexible and adaptable, which makes them great for any teacher. ?
Identifying effective techniques to teach brilliantly so students learn brilliantly is the key to success as an educator. I appreciate you and am grateful you are a part of this community.
Remember! You are brilliant! You connect, engage, and inspire the future!
Remember that you are making a difference in the lives of your students every day.
Always remember - You are talented!
