Creative reverie with the old rose
Years ago, we carefully uprooted several shrubs to create more grazing for the alpacas.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t decide where to replant them, so they stayed in their temporary home. And became overgrown.
Humbled. Each year I am awed by the resilience of the rose and blessed by their wild beauty.
THE OLD ROSE
Where does it take you,
the scent, I mean. ?
Who does it remind you of, ?
this gorgeous blush
of delicate pinkness
and intoxicating remembrance
of someplace else.
Or are we so busy
we cannot dream
and enter the creative
reverie of half-light.
Carry this smile with you. ?
It is more precious
than a thousand answers.
For from it, roses bloom.
