The creative process
Sometimes it's tricky to explain what you have in your mind. To clearly articulate what you need creating. You might have many ideas ('magpie' syndrome) or a muddle of thoughts that you need to work through. You'll be relieved to hear that this is completely normal!
'The Process of Design Squiggle' by Damien Newman, thedesignsquiggle.com, perfectly captures the effect the design process has and how it works to bring clarity and alignment into one defined direction. The 'scribbly' section is just the start of the process.
My clients often arrive with a sketchy idea. It's a little bit like a pile of string that needs untangling, easing out and neatly forming into a ball so that you can confidently move forward. It's not until we start to explore your ideas, filter and align them with your key purpose and values that the right design direction is then formed.
It can be daunting for people to hand over this 'pile of string' (or 'squiggle') of their ideas. But great ideas need to start from somewhere. Over the years I've developed a creative process that I use with each of my clients, taking them step-by-step, to ensure the right foundations are there.
I love helping my clients take those amazing ideas (no matter how disjointed their thoughts may seem at the start) through the creative process to achieve that beautiful transformation to a clear defined direction and developing effective brand assets. With every element purposefully considered and designed to tell your message.
Creative, innovative thinking teamed with an understanding of your story.
