Creative People

(Wrote this 6 years ago and felt like a good idea to share again at this time)

On this little round bluish ball that we call our world there are all type of people, tall ones, short ones, skinny ones, fat ones, the list is long and almost endless.

Today I chose to write about “the creative person”; that person that will always invent, create, write, sing, compose, build, reshape. These people driven by their curiosity, the need to know, to explore, find out, dig, investigate, scrutinize, they cannot help it; it is in their genes.

They will be creative no matter the cost, and that creativity is unlimited by the physical world, it is a dream, an emotion, a little bird poking your brain, a little ghost whispering in your ear.

Others usually consider creative people eccentric; but that is OK too, if you were not different, you would be the same!

Creative people are considered immature and childlike because they always try things and never settle for simple explanation, they love to play with things (toys).

Creative people will try new combinations, put words back to front just to see the outcome, rhyme words, combine words and invent new words, mix funny colors, try to put a circle through a triangle.

Creative people are the ones that change the rules only to create new rules so they can break these rules again, inventing new games new stories, new endings to old stories.

Creative people dream all the time because dreams have no limits, and limits are a chain that forbids freedom. Dreams are the building blocks of creativity, the ongoing supply of cement, paint, wood, they are the blueprints of what lies ahead and is yet to be created.

Creative people do not settle for facts, reality and gospel nor to statistics, they do not listen to “this is not allowed”, “don’t do that it is forbidden”, creative people see the big picture, not the little details.

Creative people put on a backpack and start walking not looking for the paved road; they do not care about “the road more walked” but “the path yet to be discovered”.

Creative people are funny, always see the ridiculous in every situation, including in their own behavior, especially in their own eccentricity oddness and weirdness.

Creative people will never fail because what others call failure the creative person sees as lessons, like Edison who said “I never failed I just discovered a million ways it does not work”

Creative people do not do it for the money, or the ego, or recognition, or thanks, they just do it, they themselves do not know why they do it, as it is a fire in their bones.

Tomorrow morning the creative people will just keep on being creative people.
