Creative Or Creator?

Creative Or Creator?

Recently someone asked me about what I thought one of the most powerful tools was to build a brand and to do it quickly.?

Looking back at the many brands I built for myself in producing, consulting, entrepreneurship, etc. one thing comes to mind that always supercharged things.?

It was the choice to go from being a creative to....

A Creator.?

Here's the core difference.?

A creative is someone who has ability in a creative field and uses that ability to make a living.?

Some creatives are highly valued for the work they do, but many are not and some these days are stuck trying to prove why their work is better than a CrapGPT.

?A creator is someone who creates something that wasn't there before.?

They make something people haven't seen often out of very little and as a result get a lot of attention and interest in their work.?

Over the years being a creator has led to major introductions and connections.

?It's led to jobs and consulting opportunities.?

It's also led to career options that seemed completely out of left field and even out of the realm of possibility.?

When you're a creator you have people who want to learn more about what you create.?

They want to know how you did it.?

They want to know how they can be involved.?

Now, do some creations hit much better than others??

Of course.?

But being the one to create something new builds a brand like no other because most people never do.?

It takes work to create something and see it through to completion.?

But the rewards are amazing for those willing to push through.?

Now here's the best part.?

Anyone can become a creator.?

You just have to decide to make something and make it.?

So over to you.?

What can you create today??

What would be possible if you looked at your world through the lens of a creator?

?I look forward to seeing what you make.?

Excelsior!?

Hmm. I'll have to think on the nuance of this difference for a while. Not sure I think it's an either/or -- but it can definitely be a both/and. Provocative post, Michael Roderick.

This is so inspiring to be a creatOR rather than a creatIVE. It might stem from a fear to step outside of the box and try something that hasn't been tried before. But that's where true innovation begins. Value is not created through regurgitation - but through the NEW and innovative. Onward and upward in creating!

Hey Michael Roderick. I create like a fiend, but I need to be a better networker. Got any tips to speed that up in this digital landscape?

I think one of the most important factors is really understanding who you are, uncensored, unfiltered. When you present a brand as that it's magnetic. Of course it does take a tin of work to figure it out. Deep inner work

Michael Roderick's, They powerfully remind us that creating something unique can open up unprecedented opportunities and connections. I was a creative, as a musician, but I was not a creator of music.
