Creative Burnout, is it real?
In the world of Attraction Marketing, the constant demand to create engaging, creative and overwhelming positive content can be a struggle.?
We all have bad or business days, where we just aren’t feeling the energy needed to create awe inspiring content.?The solution for many is to pre-schedule content using one of the many great third-party apps out there.?The use of scheduling tools also presents a unique set of challenges.?Firstly, how to keep content sounding and feeling authentic and not a mechanical construction of regurgitated content with an aim to give a rose-tinted view of our world.?It also damages our insights and can make it tempting to become a “Ghoster Poster” too, reducing the ability build meaningful relationships.
Preventing the creative burnout, that sinking feeling that you need to create yet another post, is an important skill to learn.?The method I use is to “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”.?Is it really necessary to create unique content for each platform, each page and each group??And is it really seriously necessary to post multiple times a day to boost your visibility??
Absolutely not! ??Let’s break this down a little - Reduce.?
If you are currently battling a creative block, lack of inspiration or honestly just don’t feel like creating today, that’s ok! Seriously it’s ok.?You will create more as much visibility by being an active contributor to your platform, posting thoughtful and value added comments on other peoples posts.?Always before you post on any platform, spread a little love immediately before posting.?This will full out maximise your visibility.?Plus by commenting on other peoples posts, you can start build a trusting relationship AND be visible to their network too.?
Be a collector of stories.
Start keeping a little journal, or dictate to text on your phone.?By practising daily mindfulness of what is going on around you, you can start collecting little quips, stories and moments of inspiration.?This is a handy little tool to use for reflection too.?Every morning if you are a long standing user of Facebook, check into your memories, how far have you come on your journey?

Be a meme collector.
Did a memo make you raucously laugh out loud because you 100% related, or has a quote really hit home with you??Save it into your phone under a new folder “inspiration”, or into your desktop/laptop.?Organise them, and have them at the ready to use on those days where, to be honest, you could be nice or contribute positively even if it killed you! (We all have those days, so it’s ok to accept those feelings, address them and even ask yourself why you are feeling them).
Reuse
It’s absolutely ok to use the same content on all of your platforms, although it comes a caveat.?All our platforms should have different audiences.?A 7 second reel on Tiktok would have a totally different caption and call to action on LinkedIn, if you think that doesn’t matter, then I’m sorry you are wrong.?You always need to write for your audience, do you really think anyone would read this on Facebook??The hashtags are different and are utilised differently on each platform too.?
On LinkedIn I want people to “ring my bell” to be notified of the posts, thus bringing up engagement helping me identify the fans rather than the followers.?On Tiktok, my call to action would be to hit the linktree in my bio, or to double tap to love – or even better if I’ve registered as a shop owner on Tiktok to swipe up to buy – yes I can be that direct!??People aren’t on LinkedIn to be entertained either, they are there to network and DO business.?Don’t be afraid to DO business and WRITE for Business on LinkedIn.?Fannying around being too nicey nicey, stressing about followings and walking on eggshells will be a slow method of growth indeed.?You want to get straight in to the nitty gritty.?????
So when repurposing any content, images, SF Videos, if necessary you will need to “rinse” the content through one of the great apps out there, such as SnapTik to remove the watermarks, then have a slight moment of “hang out”.?When you’ve copied and pasted text from one platform to another, just count to 3 potatoes and change the context to the intended audience before pressing post.?
Recycle
Got a trending reel, a quote that went viral last year, or a theme that people absolutely loved.?Then recycle it.?Use it again, not word for word, you need to be cleverer than that, but adapt it to the here and now.?As a social media and leadership coach, this one needs thought and planning as social media is evolving so fast, the trainings sessions and workshops that I did last year, may not be applicable this year.?
Give it a go, what content can you reduce, reuse and recycle.?Most of all be a collector of stories, the greatest leaders are amazing tellers of stories.??
