Creating Your Perfect Life
Success to you probably looks different than success to me. The goals that I want to achieve are not the same as yours. However, over the years I've gotten really clear on how I define success.?
When I was working in a sales job, earning a really good sum of money, sure, I had achieved some form of success, but I didn't feel successful. Success wasn't meant to feel this way, not after I'd chased it for that long.?
I knew something was off. There had to be more. And you know what? There was so much more. I know you've got that same something inside of you that tells you, you can have more, you can be more, you can feel more, love more and live more. And that...well that only comes by aligning with this version you have of yourself. You need to become the person that will attract the life that you want and that begins by defining success.?
Dare to dream
What does your perfect life look like ten years from now? Begin to figure out every detail of what that will look like and feel like. Write it down! Your relationships, career, family, home, vacations, write down everything! What will your body look like, what will you feel like in that healthy, fit body? Begin to dream as if you were six years old again when there were no limits and anything was possible.?
Who is your perfect person?
Now that you are clear on the vision, imagine somebody who already has everything that you want. Focus on that person. Write down what that person is like, what they do, what their traits are, how they talk to themselves, what they do daily. Walkthrough their entire day.?
How do they talk to themselves and others? How do they build people up? How do they relate to every single person around them that doesn't agree with their opinions?
What type of person are they? Are they kind, are they generous, are they loving?
This is how you begin to understand that you've got to step into that version of yourself, you've got to start living that version of yourself to achieve your success. Success is a byproduct of who you are and what you do.?
Then Vs. Now
Now that you've got an idea of the version of yourself you need to become, start bridging the gap between them and you as you currently are. What habits do you need to kick? What are the actionable steps you need to take to break away from your current lifestyle? How will you get from A to B??
Once you've created an actionable plan, it's time to put your money where your mouth is. You've got to step into that version of yourself every single day.?
While you do this, be kind to yourself, give yourself some grace because it takes a while to change. When you notice yourself slipping into your old patterns, start making small adjustments instead of being hard on yourself.?
Become aware of whether what you're doing is bringing you closer to your goals, or further from them? The more consistent you are, the easier it gets and a year from now you may not even recognize yourself. This is how you create your successes. By being the person who will succeed.
