Creating Your Own Luck: Croatia Charter!
Although fun to look at when docked, "Movie Star" yachts have never been my obsession. Nor am I that seaworthy. Plus, my imagination conjures up of hungry sharks lurking in the deep blue sea. So...
No one is more surprised than me (and excited) to be planning a private yacht charter on Croatia's Dalmatian Coast next year with thirty-two others friends aboard a luxurious small ship at a value price.??
If you know me, you know that I'm a Mountain Girl. How did this happen?
Alignment
Although this is a vacation for my husband and me, chartering yachts (and helping others charter yachts) is a new business endeavor. A trusted friend and Travel Advisor introduced my to the CEO of a company who brokers all types of travel including private yachts (Thank you @MichaelGelber and#iWorldofTravel). Michael Gelber is everything you'd ever want in a partner: reliable, responsive, and interested in your success. His company offers a high-end product. We align.
Also I consult often with some of the best and kindest travel advisors in the world who have my back and I have theirs. Alignment.
Answer #1 Find people and companies who align with your values and genuinely care. It's so much easier to conduct business when you believe in each other's vision.
Openness
If you asked whether I'd cross The Drake's Passage again to visit Antarctica despite some sea sickness, my answer would be a big YES! With my focus on "What might be possible" even if boats aren't my thing, I attended a meeting to learn more about this opportunity. Over a coffee and bagel our small group of travel advisors communed about the plus's and minus's of private yacht charters, keeping it real and enjoying one another at the same time.

Answer #2 Stay Open- not shutting down with an reactive "No"- by Listening, Learning and Staying Present.
Sharing the Belief: Good Can Happen
It's a weird psychological trick that sometimes we just can't receive goodness. We don't let ourselves imagine our dreams for who-knows-why reasons.
Although there is tons of work to do and some risk in offering this trip, the biggest leap is knowing deep down, believing, that we can create what we want and then invite others to share in the abundance. We're sending out invitations right now!
Answer #3
The key to "Creating Your Own Luck" is to share. Thank you to so many who have shared resources and advice and offered guidance to me as a small business owner. It's how "luck" spreads out in the world. Jay Quinn, CFP ? Mette Andersen #TheTravelSociety #DouglasPeacock #LindbladExpeditions

1 年Croatia is beautiful and so are the people. How many different colors of blue there are along the Adriatic! Our time spent living along the Dalmatian coast was some of the best. There is so much more to be experienced than just site seeing. Compliments to you, Amy Quinn, for aligning with Croatia in this endeavor.

Amy, sometimes I feel like George Bailey, the Jimmy Stewart in the classic movie It's A Wonderful Life. So many people have come forward to help.
