Creating Your Dream Life Doesn't Have To Be Hard

Creating Your Dream Life Doesn't Have To Be Hard

Changing what you’re not happy with is actually easier than you may think. Many of us were taught to believe making changes and achieving our dreams has to be hard. So, we make it hard by thinking it’s hard. Don’t believe it? Then the joke’s on you.

Let’s take a closer look at what I mean by this.

For a moment, just imagine: What do you want your life to be like 1 year from now? Allow your thoughts to freely explore, without any limitations of “how” you’re going to get there.

What you’re doing by imagining, right now, is a powerful process. You see, your thoughts are the seeds that literally create your reality. Let’s look at a super-simple example: Thomas Edison didn’t invent the light bulb by thinking about how many times he failed (he “failed” about 1,000 times). Instead, he kept thinking about one thing: creating the light bulb.

But, so often we run into one small roadblock and let doubts, fears and negative thoughts sabotage our journey.

When we realize that our thoughts actually create everything in our reality, it gives us incredible power no matter what our current circumstances are.

Here are 4 thought-shifting keys to get you started:

  1.  Live as if your dream is happening now. Regardless of your financial situation. Regardless of your relationship, career or health status. Start with what you can control: Your thoughts. If you don’t live in your dream house yet, or don’t have the money to buy your dream house yet, simply start by talking and thinking about how grateful you are that you’re buying your dream house. This is how we make our future our present: by thinking and feeling it.
  2.  Disregard age. Altogether. Let it go. Whether it’s a career shift, a relationship change, a move, or a lifestyle shift, age doesn’t matter (we’ve only been taught/programmed to believe it does). Plenty of successful people have made drastic life changes later in life.
  3. Write your story. Writing is a fantastic way to feel the thoughts you’re using to move your future to the present. Writing makes us focus on, think about, and feel the images and story we are describing with words on the page in another way than when we just say it. Write a story about the life you want a year from now as if it’s happening, using language like “I love how I get to…,” “I’m so thankful that I…,” or “Something I really like about my life is…” Commit to this routine every day.
  4. Use images. Visualization adds another layer to the process and helps us deepen our thoughts and feelings about the life we are creating. Using images makes our future tangible and helps us feel it. If you’re into crafts, cut images out of magazines that mirror anything about the life you want, and paste them into a collage. Or, create a Pinterest board called “my dream life” filled with images that remind you what your dream life feels like. Revisit these images throughout the day.

Sound like a sham? Again, and with all due respect, then the joke’s on you.

Feelings of skepticism are normal, and ok at first. But we have to move past them if we are actually going to move forward and create the life we want.

The reason why these thoughts and paradigm-shifting tools really work is simple: making your thoughts into tangible displays of what you want in your life is the first step in the creative process of change. It’s no different than when you want to go to a new store: you think about doing it, and your thoughts create actions (like looking up directions, driving there, and finding a parking spot).

Repetition is key. Commit to writing your thoughts every day, and putting your visual reminders some place where you’ll see them. The repetition of these images and thoughts in your mind, mixed with the emotions they bring, causes your desires to materialize.

No doubt, it’s a process. But, it can be learned, and it gets easier over time. To learn more about harnessing the power of thought to create the life of your dreams, contact Mary Vivian Braunschneider for a free one-hour discovery call at [email protected] or check out https://maryvivian.com/
