Creating a Survey that Rocks!

How would you like to pair with us here at MaxAgility to help people looking for their next career opportunity? If you'd like to #giveback, we're working with some amazing local job services agencies and came up with the idea of gathering research about careers in agility (note that we're moving away from using the term Agile since it has become cliche). We're looking forward to getting your answers to our survey as well as ideas on how to make it better!
Inspect and Adapt
After we've collected enough improvement ideas, we'll refine this article to incorporate best practices in creating surveys and will share with you now how we made this survey. In the meantime, this is how we made our first survey:
- SurveyMonkey - Let's you create unlimited surveys up to 10 questions per survey for ... free! When we start creating more complex surveys, we will upgrade from the freemium model to a paid subscription to take advantage of some nice features like being able to use our custom MaxAgility graphics.
- Graphics - Once we upgrade to a paid subscription, we'll use Adobe Stock photos to customize our surveys and avoid any royalty issues. You can get a free one-month trial and get 10 free "assets" like the one at the top of this article. #nice
- TinyURL - Let's you shorten URLs for ... free! SurveyMonkey makes you pay for customized ("vanity") URLs so we used TinyURL for this survey as well as any other time we want to have a memorable link to share.
- People - Last but certainly not least, our website that is referenced in the survey and in this article would not be in production if it weren't for our Chief People Officer, Kelly George, and our Chief Technology Officer, Katin Imes. #thesepeoplerock
Innovate or Die
Note that the survey ends with a call to action that deserves further attention here:
- We've created MaxAgility "Kickboxes" that are inspired by Adobe's innovation program. I first heard about their program when I was speaking at AgileCamp 2016 and, if you aren't doing something to spark innovation in your company, you need to click here right now before you go out of business!
- The call to action reads, "Because you have completed our ... survey, you have earned a free ... Kickbox!" In the spirit of Adobe's program, this is truly a no-cost, no-obligation set of resources to help people implement an AMP for their companies. We're licensing everything under Creative Commons attribution so please take advantage of this offer so our community can have Transformations that Rock!
Again, we're eager to get your answers to our survey and ideas for improvement!
How about You?
Would you like to implement an AMP at your company, but don't know how to start? Do you want to find out more about Agile Transformations that work? Would you like to be mentored in whatever Agile role you are currently playing or want to play? Or, if you feel like you're a seasoned professional and really ready to take it to the next level, our newest AMP course, "The Pathway: Breakthrough in Being Agile" may be exactly what you need! Note: This is not for the faint of heart. Whatever you need, we're here to collaborate with you and determine what best fits your unique objectives ranging from improving time to market to increasing employee engagement. Come talk to us during a Meetup or feel free to schedule a complimentary 30-minute consultation with us using our AI Assistant by clicking here.
Paying It Forward,
Brian

7 年Hey Brian, this is great! When I need surveys, I also use Lime Survey, which is easy to get hosted for you. It's open source and far more powerful than Survey Monkey, but it's also harder to use. But I find the tradeoff to be worth it. Let me know if you'd like setting that up.
