Creating Something From Nothing
The Labor Day holiday has existed in the US since the 1880's. For many its simply a three day weekend to mark the end of summer, but its premise to honor hard work is absolutely spot on. The people that build infrastructure, homes, companies, and technology not only provide a living for their families today, they create the future for generations to come.
In heading up a startup company no one understands the value of their team members more than founders. With 90% of startups failing the only chance of landing in the upper tenth is to gather the best people in the world at what they do, get them headed in the same direction, and pray that you don't screw it up.
Getting the right people on the bus is imperative, and I have been blessed to work with a group of dreamers, hard workers, and people that just refuse to quit. We have people in five countries and many of them have never met in person, but they all have that same unique persona that believes there is a better way.
With the failure rate being what it is, it's hard to imagine why anyone would want to be involved in what we are doing, but the thought of being part of something bigger than any individual drives the human spirit. We may look and dress differently than the people that built the Transcontinental Railroad, Hoover Dam, or the Golden Gate Bridge, but its the same belief that you can create something form nothing that drives us forward.
To my co-laborers - THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!
