Creating CBeebies Idents

We’re incredibly proud to share the amazing work that our Short Form completed for the Cbeebies Refresh earlier this year.

We worked with BBC Creative to produce the new CBeebies idents, which helped to bring the Cbeebies branding in line with the existing BBC portfolio. Following a long history of working with the Cbeebies branding, our team were super excited to continue working with such a well loved channel.?

Using the redesigned Cbeebies Bugs, we created 16 brand new idents in a 2D style, weaving the design language of the bugs seamlessly throughout the environments.

'Get Set Go!'

'Lunchtime'

“As the parent of a three-year-old, I was excited for us to re-define these characters and their world for such a beloved kids channel. We wanted the project to feel contemporary with tons of personality and have little moments for audiences to appreciate over and over again. We used a combination of 2D and 3D techniques to take advantage of our skillset and elevate the animation to make something really appealing and charming.” - Dane Winn , Director

The Summer refresh!

“Collaborating with BBC creative to give the much loved Cbeebies brand a refresh was a fantastic opportunity for our team.? The Hero Characters which had already been designed set a good foundation for how we would approach the art direction.? We decided early on that the environments and Props would take inspiration from the characters shape language ensuring we created a strong brand identity that belonged to Cbeebies.? The idea of being contemporary and having longevity also remained at the heart of the render finish and production approach.? With this in mind we pushed for a 2D treatment, whilst pulling on 3D to give that extra depth in animation qualities, that was desired.?
