Introduction: RURs vs. HAIRS
R.U.R.?is a 1920?science fiction?play by the Czech writer?Karel ?apek. standing for?Rossumovi Univerzální Roboti?(Rossum's Universal Robots),
Synopsis. The play features a factory that makes artificial workers from synthetic organic matter. (As living creatures of artificial flesh and blood, that later terminology would call?androids. Robots may be mistaken for humans but have no original thoughts. Though most are content to work for humans, eventually a?rebellion?causes the extinction of the human race.
The existential message is simple and critical: rational universal robots (RURs) with original machine intelligence should overrule the humanoid AI robots (HAIRs). Since HAIRS will replace humans, while the RURs with machine intelligence give humans superpower and superintelligence.
To avoid the ?apek's prevision of a human history ending much provoked by the today's big tech humanoid AI robotics and automation, we are to initiate the building of the RURs factories worldwide, in Russia, Europe, China, USA, etc.
Ideally, all the existent factories and laboratories engaged with R & D & I of HAIRS could be reorganized as the RURs enterprises. The initiative includes the EU AI Factories aimed to "leverage the supercomputing capacity of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking to develop trustworthy cutting-edge generative AI models.... The seven AI Factories involve 15 Member States and 2 EuroHPC participating States: Portugal, Romania and Türkiye have joined Spain; Austria and Slovenia have joined Italy; and Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Norway and Poland have joined the Finland. With an investment of around €1.5 billion from the EU and Member States, these sites will deploy new AI-optimised supercomputers and upgrade existing systems, significantly enhancing Europe's AI capabilities".??
The world is at the stages of an AI, Robotics and Automation disruption, negative or positive, depending on which paradigm is to dominate, human or anti-human.
Whatever, this bifurcation moment presents the unique opportunity to substantially alter the human future, changing our society, economy, politics, environment and standard of living.
Humanoid AI Robots that can think, learn, reason, and interact with their environments will eventually be capable of performing tasks better than humans.
Humanoids could upend a variety of industries, from corporate labor roles (3+ billion humans), in the home (2+ billion), the elderly (~1 billion), the military (military or defense applications) and to building new worlds on other planets.
Today, ~50% of global GDP (~$55 trillion/yr) is human labor, but as the humanoids join the global workforce, everywhere from factories to farmland, the cost of human labor will decrease to the price of renting a humanoid robot, with all the socio-economic and political consequences.
What is Fundamentally Wrong with Humanoid AI?
We argue for an existential threat of HAIRS business, from the Tesla's Optimus or Ameca or Figure to the SE01 humanoids, all the human-robotics technology simulating basic human features:
the human body, to mimic/replicate human anatomy
the brain, to mimic/replicate NNs
the brains, to mimic/replicate human intelligence, cognition and reasoning
the behavior, to mimic/replicate human movements and actions
the business, to mimic/replicate all possible human-like jobs, tasks and workforce
A recent video from EngineAI has proved our worst concerns of humanoid AI machines, as the SE01 stands out for its ability to replicate human movements with impressive naturalness.
At the (CES) 2025, it unveiled a range of humanoids including the SE01, SA01 and PM01 models.
Designed for industrial and domestic tasks, this humanoid is 1.70 meters tall and combines technologies such as deep learning algorithms and joint force control modules.
With plans to produce more than 1,000 units annually by 2025, EngineAI is looking to position itself as an industry leader, looking for mass adoption of robots in work and home environments.

From Fiction to Reality
Robots have been around in myth and fiction stories for thousands of years. The idea of humanoid automata date to the 4th century BCE in Greek mythologies and various religious and philosophical texts from China.
Now one thing is the mythological Talos or Pandora, or the sci-fi T-800/Terminator. Megatron/Transformers. androids/replicants, “thought experiments, ’what-if’ scenarios”, or animatronic robots for theme parks that look, move and speak much like human beings. It is another thing when they have a reality, with human-like cognition and physical autonomy.
Such humanoids could theoretically perform any task a human being can, so long as they have the proper trained AI software.
Humanoid biomimetic robots should be restricted to the world of medicine and biotechnology to build better orthosis and prosthesis for human beings with physical disabilities such as missing limbs.
Instead of human competing intelligence,, autonomous humanoids should feature a non-human machine intelligence engine, as completing, augmenting and enhancing the human intelligence.
Rational Universal Robots (RUR)
Autonomous humanoids with non-human machine intelligence engine could be commercially produced for dangerous non-human tasks, jobs and work and especially for distant space exploration mission,, without returning to Earth, distantly getting the next mission.
We have to build them as rational universal robots with general AI engines, as it is titled in the play R.U.R., or Rossumovi Univerzální Roboti (Rossum’s Universal Robots).
Such non-humanoid RURs are to implement a human completing robotic paradigm:
The World Sensing, the RUR senses the world, learns, understands, reasons, plans, decides and acts.
Machine Intelligence, all the sensing data with prime world knowledge gathered into one global world model learning and understanding engine.
Interacting, perform a combination of behaviors, searching multiple instances of Sense-Act causal links, to accomplish tasks to achieve designated goals.
The RUR's machine intelligence is general intelligence exhibited by technologies or machines, as computer systems, including software and hardware, networks, platforms, applications or devices.
In its turn, general robotic intelligence consists in machine's intelligent powers to effectively interact and make sense of the world, with all its possible realities, physical and virtual, objective and subjective, in terms of world models, data, algorithms, computation and automation.
Conclusion
HAIRS (Humanoid AI robots), which are designed to resemble and mimic humans, our body, brain, behavior and business, must be outlawed as an existential threat for human beings.
RURs factories leveraging the original machine intelligence and learning, the global world modeling platforms and supercomputing capacity are to develop human-completing, trustworthy cutting-edge hyperintelligent models, robots, machines, systems, platforms, networks.
