Creating positive habits at work and in our daily lives

For the past 3 years, my wife and I have started the year off by doing the Whole Life Challenge, a 60-day health and wellness game. Check out the link to read more about it. https://www.wholelifechallenge.com
This wasn’t meant to be a New Years resolution, but a way to create positive and lasting habits, by making small, daily changes.
What kept me consistent during the challenge was by having to log my daily activity centered on Nutrition, Exercise, Mobility, Sleep, Hydration, Lifestyle Practices, and Reflection. This log was shared with our team we had created and any one of the 10,000 plus participants could view my activity. The gamification piece resonated well with me and not only did I feel better by following the challenge guidelines, I was mentally excited about the success of sharing my daily accomplishments.
Fast forward 6 months, I have kept many of the positive habits, however others have come undone as the mechanisms I followed daily to keep me on track were no longer there.
At the office, we thrive off positive energy and working towards a common goal. By sharing your daily activities or game plan and checking back with your team daily, weekly and monthly, you will create a strong culture of success. "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" quoting Wayne Gretzky. Write down your daily goals and share them. Also take the time to write out audacious goals that seem impossible or too far off in the distance to obtain. By taking baby steps with your incremental goals, you can achieve more then you expected. If you aren't writing anything down, how do you know where to shoot or what to shoot for?
It doesn't have to be the New Year to re-evaluate what is working and kick start positive habits. Start now!
Just over a year ago I joined Sayva Solutions (www.sayvasolutions.com) and launched their technology consulting and recruiting practice.
We focus on the long term in every decision we make and every action we take. By having this long term vision in mind in how we do business helps me align my day-to-day activities to achieve my goals. Nothing comes easy, but with focus in the right direction and with intention, anything is possible.
