Our human race has endured various crises in our lifetime and we are going through one such crisis right now. This pandemic of COVID-19 has taken all the major countries under its grasp. We are watching thousands and thousands of people getting affected and the death toll is rising and rising with each passing day.
The spread of the SARS-COV2 virus has become so fatal because no country in the world has the vaccine against this virus. Medical researchers are working day in day out to create a cure for this deadly virus. However, according to reports, a vaccine against SARS-COV2 will take at least 12-18 months before it is out in the market for personal use.
Every country’s government until then has been left with two measures to control this ever-disturbing situation. First of all, it is increasing the number of tests that will help the medical team to find the corona positive person and cure him so that he doesn’t infect the other persons in his vicinity.
The second measure that every country is taking is a lockdown. Lockdown is hampering the economy of every country. But the economy can be recovered, lives cannot be. Central governments have asked their citizens to stay at home to contribute to this fight against coronavirus.
Every person out there has a chance to become a hero only for himself, not only for his family, not only for his country but for the whole world.
Staying at home can have a positive effect on various factors of your life. You can spend a lot of time at home with your family which you earlier were not able to do because of the hectic schedule of your daily life. You can develop some new habits that will overall improve your physical and mental health.

Since we are all day at home, we are saving a lot of our time that used to spend by going to our workplace, going to various parties, visiting malls, shopping for stuff, going to parks with friends. Not being able to do all these activities will help you save loads of hours. Make proper use of these hours by

Listening to various podcasts to clear your mind and change your perspective towards life in general.
- Watching videos of real-life role models:

Reading books on personal growth and biographies of legends to keep yourself motivated in this idle time.
- Watching videos to improve productivity:
Look at sources to watch and listen that will help you in managing your time effectively and improve productivity in your tasks.
- Doing regular exercises:
Doing exercise for at least 30 minutes for 4/5 days every week to manage your stress levels.
- Trying something new:
Learning a new skill such as dance lessons, pottery lessons, guitar lessons or even some management skills. There are free tutorials available on youtube for any skill that you want to add to your skillset.
- Trying your hand at recipes:
Try your hand in the kitchen. If you ever wanted to learn a recipe for yourself or your loved ones, now is the time that you start acting on that thought of yours. And if you already know how to cook then try something new that you have never cooked before.
- Playing games with your family:
When there was no internet, we used to play a lot of board games like Chess, Carrom Board, Monopoly to pass our time. Start playing these games again with your loved ones again to improve your skills and have a quality time.
- Learning a new language:
Learn a new language. We all want to have an extra language in our arsenal other than our native language. It improves the skillset that also helps us in conversing with people who speaks in different tongue than ours. It will add up to your CV if you apply for a job somewhere. Learning a new language in today’s time can be effortless because of the tv shows that come in different languages. For example, Netflix’s trending Spanish series La Casa De Papel, ‘Dark’ which is in German language and ‘Ragnarok’ which is in Norwegian.
- Find some interesting topics and write blogs on them:
Writing blogs can be a really good idea to learn new things and also improve your writing skills. There are tonnes of ideas and topics out there to choose from. Google various topics, find a topic that suits your style of writing and then start creating something beautiful. There can be food blogs, travel blogs, sports blogs, fashion blogs.

- Bring your inner artist out:
If you have an interest in art then this is the time to try your hand at creating a masterpiece. It may be a small step but where’s the harm in trying when you have so much of free time to spend. Who knows in this break, you might create your own Mona Lisa.
- Work on your weaknesses:
Every person has his own share of weakness be it communicating skills, poor grammar, vocabulary, bad handwriting or something other. Read books on your particular area of weakness that will act as a catalyst in suppressing your weakness. Make this time to use and convert your weakness into a strength.

Start prioritizing your things and create a to-do list. Mention the things that you normally won’t do to bring the effectiveness of what you do.
