Creating New Connections

Earlier this year I sat at my dad’s hospital bedside as a palliative care doctor walked us through end of life scenarios. It was a scary time. I couldn’t help but put myself in my dad’s shoes and look back on my life. I never want to say, “would have, should have, could have,” so I took a leap and left a job I loved to pursue a dream.

I shared with you my dream of publishing a book. I had literary agents interested in my book who advised me to set up a social media platform around it, create a video, and write a book proposal, which turns out to be a lot like writing a term paper for university! It has been a busy time getting everything in order, and I have learned a great deal.

I also recruited for some great companies during that time and partnered with outstanding people. I flew back home to spend time with my dad. I’m happy to report he is recovering nicely.

One day a wonderful company came calling. Talking Rain is the number one sparkling water company in a $3+ Billion category! Their “Sparkling Ice” continues to break records with double-digit growth with over $540 million in multi-outlet convenience dollar sales over the last year!

They needed a Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition to lead the design, management, and execution of sourcing and employment brand strategies to further drive the talent brand for the company. It’s not only a great opportunity to leverage my skills, it’s a company with an amazing culture! Even before I started, they invited me to a leadership conference. They work hard to support their leaders and give them the tools to be inspiring and effective. They seek to empower positive, self-led, curious people of integrity to grow this company that’s headquartered in one of the most beautiful parts of the country in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

So far, I’m loving it. It’s an added bonus that the creative team invents cocktails and takes pictures of them in a studio adjacent to my office! Yesterday Allyssa Adams popped out of a photoshoot and offered me a sample of her newest Sparkling Ice Margarita made with Serrano Peppers!

I think I’m going to enjoy creating connections at every sip!
