Creating a movement to fight hunger ??

A few years ago, Seema Sanghavi came across a troubling statistic:

About 1/3 of the food produced gets thrown out. And with the amount of food we waste across the globe, we could feed the entire world’s hungry population, four times over. “How could so many go hungry when so much food is just being thrown out?”

That’s when she had the idea for?Cooks Who Feed?— a social enterprise that ethically produces kitchen textiles with a give-back model, providing meals to fight hunger. In 2022, Cooks Who Feed was voted IN as a Venture by the Coralus community, receiving an interest-free loan alongside coaching and support.

Thanks to the support of the Coralus community, Seema was able to build?her own?manufacturing facility in Delhi, India where she has hired 30 people to produce her textiles, while providing training, meals, care and even a scholarship fund!

With this growth, Cooks Who Feed secured a large cruise ship company client, a real estate builder, signed an American?celebrity chef partnership, and has launched collaborations with Coralus Ventures Sitti Soap and African Bronze Honey.

This past year she has directly funded 250,000 meals as a result of her impact-based business.

“I never set out to create a company. I set out to create a movement that would empower people everywhere to fight hunger in the most socially responsible way possible,” says Seema.
