As well as our three shops in Bolton, we also work with other businesses who bake off and sell our products on their premises.
We have over 150 trade partners now who sell our pasties and over the years we’ve found that the key to this is building?genuine?relationships.?We have to trust?our trade partners?to bake our pasties perfectly?for the end customer?and they have to trust us to deliver the service they need?in order to be able to do that, it works both ways.?
How we work with our trade partners
We’ve been working on the relationships with our trade partners over the years, finding out what works best for them when it comes to?joining us,?ordering, and delivering.?A high percentage of our partners are convenience stores or petrol?forecourts,?so they have their own problems they?face, and as the food-to-go industry evolves, we need to grow with it?and help solve?those problems.?Feedback is really important to us too, we?regularly ask?our trade customers?for feedback on our service as a whole and will then work on any improvements?to make?our?services?better, it’s important for us to know if we can do things better.
We?send out a trade partner newsletter so they know what’s going on at Carrs Pasties, but it also gives them?advice and tips on baking, marketing, and other topics that could help increase sales.?
When a potential new trade partner gets in touch, we provide all the info they need, if they don’t already have the equipment needed we can put them in touch with our friends at Acme where they can source hot towers, freezers, and ovens.?We provide all the info on prices and payments?too. When it comes to demonstrating how to bake pasties we make the time to go and see the customers, take a look at their set-up and we bring along everything they’ll need for baking – a probe, grease-proof baking paper, and of course – pasties.
Baking pasties may sound simple but there’s an art to making sure they’re?piping?hot in the middle and the pastry is?perfectly?golden, we spend as much time as we can with our trade partners getting this right for them. And if they need a baking refresh in the future or they need some tips or guidance on how to increase sales, we’re on hand to help.?

Challenges we face?in the future?...
Over the last year or so we have started to see more business come in from outside of Bolton, which is brilliant because we want to be available in every home in the UK and this helps us?achieve that, but it also means we have to find new ways of communicating to those who aren’t just a short drive away.?Some of our trade partners would prefer quick phone calls, while others would prefer to be?emailed.?Whether it’s WhatsApp, emails, or phone calls –?we do?whatever works for?them.?
Some of our customers have been with us for over 10 years?and we’re proud of the relationship we have with them. It’s something we’ll always continuously improve on as we grow by listening to the needs of our trade partners, upgrading our processes and systems, and making sure we’re always building that trust.?
