Creating an Inspiring Vision for 2024?

Creating an Inspiring Vision for 2024?

Wow, can you believe the end of the year is almost upon us??

I’ve really focused this year on being intentional, and it got me thinking about refining where we are placing our attention, especially when planning 2024.?

With our 8 Hallmarks of high performance, we have identified some of the main characteristics and traits of high-performing managers and leaders, and this month I’m going to share more about the ‘Inspiring Narrator’ - the effective communicator that sparks a vision.?

The Inspiring Narrator Hallmark is all about developing and fine-tuning the skills and habits that will allow you to effectively communicate with your team and colleagues in a way that empowers, informs, engages and inspires.?

The characteristics of being an inspiring narrator:

Here’s what we’ve learned about being an inspiring narrator:

  • VERBAL & NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION: Demonstrates appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication strategies across different audiences.

  • INFLUENCE & PERSUASION: Uses the power of storytelling, fluency and framing to convey complex ideas, bring people on board and drive forward progress.

  • INSPIRING AND EMPOWERING OTHERS:? Paints a compelling vision that others want to be part of and entrusts them with the power they need to help achieve that vision.

  • IN PERSON AND VIRTUAL: Adapt their communication style to suit different mediums to create connection, ensure clarity, and facilitate active dialogue and debate.

Inspiring others to create a commercial vision for an organisation is a crucial leadership skill that can drive innovation, growth, and long-term success.

So how can you do it effectively? I’ve learned that being an inspiring narrator is all about the energy and motivation you have for your vision. If you can clearly see it in your mind, you’ll be able to tell the story in a way that passes this same enthusiasm on to your staff.

When was the last time you had to communicate a vision? Tell me in the comments below!
