Creating impact – Leadership style

Creating impact – Leadership style

Do you feel you are on the treadmill, where you are running everyday but reaching no where? Go to live, start to lead and create impact. Leadership is about creating impact in the organization.

?

Leaders influence a variety of outcomes —?including turnover, customer satisfaction, sales, revenue, productivity, and more. Good leadership creates employee engagement and passion, which lead to higher levels of customer loyalty, service, innovation, and ultimately profits.

?

Daniel Goleman?argues that leadership style has a 70% impact on an organization’s climate which in turn impacts business performance.?Drea Zigarmi?describes the connection between leadership style, the passion of employees, and the impact on the bottom line.

?

The Circle of Impact model?focuses on creating impact, which means making a difference or creating change.?Ideas,?Relationships, and the?Structure?that support them are the three areas where leaders must take initiative to be effective in creating impact:?The Three Dimensions of Leadership. The aim is to bring them into alignment, strengthened by clarity of?Purpose,?Vision, and?Values.

?

John Maxwell, the famous leadership author of?The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, says that “leadership is influence—nothing more, nothing less.”??He’s right, but his definition is not complete. Leaders influence?and?can create impact. Having influence doesn’t automatically create impact, but it does provide an opportunity for it. In essence, impact is influence that inspires.

?

Once we are clear about what the impact is we want to create and how we want to create it, we can start to really work towards that goal.?Understanding ourselves, our strengths, weaknesses and interests makes us much more effective in creating the change we wish to see.

?

Here are the seven key actions that can help increase leadership impact:

1. Shift the Energy of Your Team.

2. Collaborate.

3. Cultivate Creativity.

4. Use Influence, Not Power.

5. Promote Daily Progress.

6. Build a Body of Behavior.

7. Focus on What Is Right, Not Who Is Right.

When you employ these seven secrets and increase your leadership impact, you set up your entire organization for success.

?

Not everything that counts can be counted and not everything that can be counted counts.?– Albert Einstein
