Creating the Ideal Candidate Experience

Creating the Ideal Candidate Experience

One year ago I published an article entitled "Flow", where I discussed my more recent professional (and at times personal) journey and the decision to join Phenom People. In that article I talked about the experiences I've had, both as an employee, subject matter expert and leader, as well as the other side of the spectrum in being a job-seeking candidate.

Phenom's CEO, Mahe Bayireddi, often talks about the need to, first and foremost, be in touch with who you truly are and what is your purpose or goal(s) in life. For the past year, I have listened to him share this fundamental tenet with my colleagues, our leadership, customers, and prospective employees. It was also the mindset I had to constantly check against while conducting my own job search a year ago.

When Phenom's COO, Hari Bayireddy (Mahe's brother), interviewed me, he was most interested to understand who I was and not overly focused on what I've done. My resume was the roadmap but it was the human interaction...the intellectual dialogue and core principles he shared that ultimately made the decision to join quite easy. Drawing from the incredibly impersonal and frustrating candidate application and interview process at times, hearing that Phenom truly focused on the candidate experience (front-end) and the customer's ability to better attract, retain, and navigate (both front and back-end) excited me.The Phenom TRM Cloud Platform connects billions of people around the world looking for their dream job with great companies eager to make their next phenomenal hire. Phenom People is redefining what it means to search for a job and recruit top talent.

As we continue to deliver against our mantra/mission, Phenom wanted to bring like-minded professionals and thought leaders together for two days to discuss what it means to be phenomenal...deliver phenomenal experiences and continue to stay true to the principles of "Phenomenology." I am particularly excited to hear and interact with IAMPHENOM’s speakers that include TED Talk presenter and New York Times Bestselling Author Neil Pasricha (The Book of Awesome and The Happiness Equation), The Hershey Company's Colleen Truit, Southwest Airlines Greg Muccio, and many others.

We are looking to drive thought leadership, ideas, and conversations around how to keep the core values and Talent Relationship Marketing...recruiting...internal mobility...culture, and other value-based principles that help guide and drive organizations to being truly phenomenal.
