Creating a Healthier World

At PhRMA, our aim is to create a healthier world.?

As an industry, that includes researching treatments and cures, but it also includes doing our part to reduce the impact we’re having on our environment. PhRMA members have long been leaders in this space, whether it’s finding creative ways to manufacture medicines with less environmental impact or adopting more sustainable approaches to package and transport medicines.?

One of our employee resource groups at PhRMA, SUSTAIN, hosted a series of events this month to help us build a more environmentally friendly workplace and celebrate #EarthDay. As an organization, we learned about the sustainability efforts of the biopharmaceutical industry through a bingo competition and added reusable cups to our cafeteria and encouraged participation in area Earth Day service events. At the end of this month, another of PhRMA’s employee resource groups, the Change Agents, are joining forces with SUSTAIN to host a panel discussion on the importance of addressing environmental justice and the impact climate change is having on people in diverse and underserved populations.??
