Deepavali, or Diwali, the festival of lights, is a time to celebrate with friends and family. Traditionally, sweets were homemade, with weeks of planning, communal cooking, and first tastes given to the younger ones. Today, convenience has replaced these simple joys, with most of us opting for store-bought sweets or even chocolates.

Pattappa hired a wedding hall and invited his patrons to come and select which sweets they wanted to order. He was pulling his loyal customers to a single large location, inviting them to bring their friends along.
