Deepavali, or Diwali, the festival of lights, is a time to celebrate with friends and family. Traditionally, sweets were homemade, with weeks of planning, communal cooking, and first tastes given to the younger ones. Today, convenience has replaced these simple joys, with most of us opting for store-bought sweets or even chocolates.

He is a well-known name in the Chennai wedding cooking circuit. For Diwali, many sweets are made and distributed - a lot of them.

The shops cater to customers' needs with unique packaging and assortments.

Pattappa hired a wedding hall and invited his patrons to come and select which sweets they wanted to order. He was pulling his loyal customers to a single large location, inviting them to bring their friends along.

The selection process is complex as all the family's requirements had to be accounted for. Some like laddus, others Jalebi, Athirasam, Mixture, Pedas, Badushas, etc.

  • ?????????????????????? ?????? ????????????????: Pattappa provided printed sheets with the order quantity and a table for making the payment. This is straightforward.
  • ???????? ???????????????? ?????? ?????????????? ????????????????: There was a separate counter to facilitate couriering the ordered sweets in India and abroad. This was a masterstroke as it removed a big headache for the customers. Buy in one place, repack, double pack, and then go to the courier company to send it across - especially during the busy holiday season. Just WOW!
  • ???????????????????? ??????????????: OK, so the order is placed. What will the customers do while waiting? On average, the packing process takes 15-20 minutes per customer. Pattappa invited all the customers who had placed the order to go to the dining room and have their breakfast! This eliminated any cribs during the waiting time. More importantly, everyone got a taste of his cooking once more and left with a full stomach and hands full of orders!
  • ?????? ??????????????????: Loyal customers could access the event an hour early, underscoring their value.
  • ???? ?????????????? ?????? ?????? ??????????????????' ??????????, mapped their journey, filled their stomachs, and eliminated any additional work for them.

Pattappa gave more than what the customers expected.

Since I know Pattppa & his son for quite some time, I know their strategy during every Diwali for the past 6-8 years - not only on this occasion, even for big or small event, they have a planned programme with right attitute people to keep their clientele intact.
