Creating a Consistent Flow of Content on Social Media
Consistency is key in most areas of life, but especially when it comes down to content marketing.
You can be posting extremely interesting, unique, & high-value content whenever you find time to do so, but if it isn’t consistent..well, it isn’t going to be effective.
Why?
One main reason:
- People are always seeking to learn more
Both life and business are endless cycles of problem-solving. First discovering a problem, then seeking an answer, and finally finding a solution. The goal of content marketing is to have the answer prepared and ready before your ideal client even knows they’re going to ask it!
Consistent Content Flow
A great method to follow for maintaining efficiency and consistency with your social content is the trickle-down effect.
The trickle-down effect is what most small business owners follow to stay on top of their content marketing because it effectively saves time and resources.
Four Steps to the Trickle Down Effect:
- Start with a blog, podcast or video content
- Extract the main points from it
- Create graphics and content to accompany each graphic
- Distribute the content by pre-planning it all in batches rather than doing it daily
These four steps aren’t a huge time commitment, and are extremely effective in staying consistent with your social posting!
Branded content
It’s important that your social content is branded and is easily identifiable as yours to your following. This might take a bit of planning at first but once you have your ideas in place for how you want everything to look – it will be so simple from there on out!
I like to create content templates for all the social channels I plan to post on. So, if you are focusing your efforts on Facebook and Instagram, it can be a good idea to make these:
- Facebook Post Graphic Template (940 x 788px)
- Instagram Post Graphic Template (1080 x 1080px)
- Instagram Story Graphic Template (1080 x 1920px)
Once you have these templates beautiful & complete with your brand colors and fonts, you will never miss out on the opportunity to post them again.
Social Media Planning Software
The last tip to make sure you stay consistent with your social content is scheduling.
Honestly, if I have one tip for you to follow, this is it.
Planning and scheduling all your social content in advance is crucial because it means you won’t even have to think about it on the majority of your days! There’s no better feeling than staying busy working on your biz, while all your pre-planned content is being posted across your channels.
You can use programs like Hootsuite or Buffer to pre-plan and schedule all these posts. You can also use Facebook Scheduler!
