Creating a consistent brand presence is key when it comes to two areas within your company.
Using templates to create a consistent brand presence
One of the best ways this can be accomplished is through the use of templates. Having someone create one-off assets for your company is expensive and unsustainable in the long run.?Creating a system of templates that align with your brand guidelines?makes it easy for almost anyone within your company to create consistently branded content to be shared both internally and externally. In addition, creating templates can allow quicker turnaround times, saving your company money.?
The design team at Syrup uses the tool?Figma?to help create templates for our own brand as well as our clients’ brands. It starts as soon as we onboard a new marketing services client when we create a social media template. Using the client’s current brand guidelines, we create 5-10 different types of templates to use on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. We build templates that work with quotes, stats, promotions, blog posts…you name it. After the initial template is built, our team then has the ability to go in and simply replace content, photos, etc. These social media templates are especially awesome on a platform like Instagram where the entire feed as a whole plays an important part in how someone views the brand. By using these templates, you can create a consistent brand presence and an esthetically appealing feed.?

How to create a consistent brand presence
The first step in moving towards this transformative approach to creating assets is to do a current audit of anything, both digital and physical, you create for your brand on a regular basis. Here are a few common assets to get you started:
Now ask yourself, how many of these assets are being designed on a one-off basis every time they are needed? Are you following your companies’ brand guidelines as you create them? Your answers to these questions should help you determine whether or not a branded template is needed. Of course, there is a time and place for custom designs and there is always the danger of getting stuck in a creative rut that sometimes comes with using templates. But templates are an easy way to?give you both time and money back to invest in other areas of your business.?
If you haven’t already picked up on it, we’re a big fan of custom templates here at Syrup and love using them to help grow B2B businesses. If the thought of creating templates for certain assets overwhelms you,?reach out to us here. We’d love to help.
