Creating a Buy One Get One Promotion


Who is this for? This is for all individuals and sellers for those who want to know how to create a buy one get one promotion.

Objective: This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will help you understand step-by-step how to create a buy-one-get-one promotion. To Create a Buy One Get One Promotion on Seller Central, follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Advertising" on the top menu and select "Promotions" from the drop-down menu. ?
  2. Click on "Create" under the "Buy One Get One Promotion" tab.
  3. Under "Step 1: Conditions," choose whether the customer needs to buy a certain quantity or every item purchased to qualify for the promotion.
  4. Select the product for the promotion from the "Product Selection" drop-down menu.
  5. If necessary, create a new product selection for the promotion by clicking the link and following the instructions.
  6. Select "Free Items" for the "Buyer Gets" field and "Purchased Items" for the "Applies to" field.
  7. Enter the number of items the customer needs to purchase to qualify for the promotion in the "Buyer Benefit Applies to a Quantity Of" field.
  8. Alternatively, select "Additional Item" and choose which ASIN the customer needs to purchase along with the product selection.
  9. Under "Advanced Options," exclude any product selections from the promotion if desired.
  10. Under "Step 2: Scheduling," choose the start and end dates and times for the promotion.
  11. Enter an "Internal Description" to help identify the promotion.
  12. Under "Step 3: Additional Options," choose the "Claim Code" option and select whether the promotion is limited to one redemption per customer.
  13. Combine any number of unrestricted claim codes, but do not include more than one preferential claim code or combine an exclusive claim code with any other claim code.
  14. For "Single-Use" or "Group" options, enter the claim code and choose whether to allow "Preferential" or "Unrestricted" Claim Code? ? ? ? ? ? ? Combinability.
  15. Note that the "Group" option generates a claim code automatically.
  16. Customize messaging by adding text to the "Checkout Display Text," "Purchased Items Display Text," and "Terms and Conditions" ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? fields.
  17. Choose whether to display the promotion on the detail page and whether to use standardized or customized text.
  18. Select the Display Precedence number.
  19. Click "Review" and check the promotion details.
  20. Click "Submit" to create the promotion, or go back to make changes if necessary.
