Creating a Business Model

When I help my clients identify the right business for them, not only do I have them start off by taking an entrepreneur profile, but then we take it one step further to create a business model. I want to make sure that I understand what they are looking for, what their goals are and what specific criteria they are looking for in a business.?
Asking the Right Questions
What is this business model? It's the opportunity to help my client create a very clear picture of what the ideal business should look like for them, before we take a look at any businesses.? What we try to identify is what is important to you. What are the must haves that your business should have? What would be some nice things for it to have? And what absolutely should you not have in your business? Basically, what business criteria's are important to you. For example; would you like your business to have a lot of employees or would you prefer to start with 2 or 3 employees? Would you like to work from home or would you prefer to have a location outside of your home? How important is having flexibility in your schedule? Would you like to be a full time owner (working 30-40 hrs per week) or maybe a semi absentee owner model (working 15-25 hrs per week) is what you prefer.
Many clients that I meet with say that they would like to start off with a smaller business that maybe has fewer employees to start. They would love to have an office at home and they want the business to be able to provide flexibility in their schedule.? However, everyone is different and has different visions of what business ownership should look like, so it is important to me to understand what each client wants in their business and then find franchises that will be the right fit for each of my clients.
Matching the Right Franchise for You
As we talk and as I learn more about my client and their vision, we're getting a clearer and clearer picture of what this business should look like.? Then I can very expertly and individually go out and look for franchises that are going to match the things that they said are important to them, and hopefully be able to provide them with as many of the must haves as possible.?
