Public relations is EVERYONE’s business at a school. Our school’s reputation is built upon the shoulders of every staff member, with each interaction we have.
Every conversation. Every note put in that backpack. Every email sent out.
And yes – with every tweet we share.
This can be scary. I get it. Social media has its negative side, and some schools are worried about opening this megaphone to reach the entire world with one single touch of the button.
But empowering your teachers to use Twitter can transform districts. To give you some real insight, I asked Greg Turchetta, Executive Director Of Communications And Community Engagement with Collier County Public Schools in Florida to share with you.
Greg helped create the word “Tweetchers.” Simply put, they are teachers who tweet! Implementing the use of Twitter at 50 different schools is no easy task, but this guy did it. To offer some insight, he answered 3 questions in this short 2 minute video:
- Why did you start your social journey for your district with Twitter?
- What was the initial attitude from your teachers about learning and using Twitter?
- You are about 20 months into your Twitter journey – what is the attitude of your teachers now?
Powerful two minutes, huh? If you want to learn even more about the social media journey at Greg’s school, tune in this recorded FREE WEBINAR. Access now.
In the 60 minute presentation, Greg will share a blueprint for growing the use of Twitter in your school. He will also show you how to:
- Identify & neutralize the 3 fears with social media
- Get your principals to lead the effort
- Let video take you to the next level
