Creating An Ad Strategy In 3 Easy Steps

I love building strategy.?

I never really thought of myself as a strategist until someone in my community pointed out that I could see bigger pictures than what was laid out in front of me.?

This went beyond just FB ad strategy and into business models as well.?

Now, I definitely wasn’t born with this kind of skill, and in fact my mentor, Rachel Pedersen really showed me how strategy can be mapped out and where you can see your own applications and holes in the process.

Learning from here helped me to see that I really LOVED building strategy - in all kinds of roles.?

But Ad Strategy is one of my favorites.

While strategies for businesses have to be customized specifically to the business, ads can have a bit more generalities when started out.

So here is the easiest strategy for running your own ads

First Level

Run brand awareness ads. This can be video view campaigns, traffic, reach and/or engagement campaigns. This helps to build an audience and get them warm to you. These ads are generally cost effective for small budgets too, and help build video views, pixel data and growth on your FB page.

Second Level

Run ads to your lead magnet, webinar, free training, small offer. These are usually best suited if they are free or under a $50 price point (People don’t tend to buy completely cold to a brand)?

Third Level

Retarget those who didn’t take action from your second level ads, or who are in need of elevation to a higher product/service of yours. For instance, if they registered for your free training, but didn’t take your offer, hit them with ads about your offer. Or if you had a product and they didn’t purchase, hit them with ads about what they looked at but didn’t purchase.

Bonus Strategy Tip for Small Budgets

You can combine Level 1 and 2 together, or omit Level 1 if you are running ads to just a freebie, lead magnet or free training/offer. A lot of times those work just fine with cold traffic and the brand awareness can be done through email nurturing
