- So the past week was all about platform conversations! Instagram Boss - Adam Mosseri, sat down with Colin and Samir to talk all things Instagram. This was interesting for me in 2 ways - firstly, this was a fairly no-holds-barred conversation ranging from Zuckerberg’s latest style shift to the TikTok effect, and secondly, it was interesting to have Adam (leading Instagram) having a podcast with primarily YouTube-first creators! Talk about melting borders! Samir and Colin. If you haven’t given it a listen - I promise, It’ll be worth your, well, 1hr 32mins! Okay, it's long!?
- A report I read recently that I thought might be worth sharing was a deep dive into the Latin America Creator Economy. Did you know - that 14 Hrs and 40 Mins - that's the average daily media consumption in Latin America - the highest in the world, yet Digital Ad Spending is the lowest in Latin America (2021) at 43%, well under the global average of 61%. Interesting right? Read more here
- On the other side of the planet, there’s an interesting development -? Set to debut on June 22, is a joint venture between Binary Korea and Korean digital entertainment company Sandbox Network set to launch a new fan platform for creators called THEUS. This app brings together artist-related content such as music videos, teasers, movies and live streams. While I am a little sceptical, since there is no real breakthrough product and platform offering, but hey most of the biggest platforms offer mostly the same core product offerings.?
- India’s adoption of Influencer Marketing cannot be avoided as it is one of the largest consumer markets in the world, with an ever-expanding influencer ecosystem. India’s market-leading media and entertainment organisation working across various media and experiential formats to impact pop culture - Only Much Louder (OML), is now expanding their AI-powered influencer marketing tech, Hypothesis, globally. In the first phase of global expansion, Hypothesis will be available in the Asia-Pacific region (Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand), Middle Eastern countries (Abu Dhabi, GCC nations, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar) as well as strategic locations in Africa (Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa) along with the USA. Call me biassed, but I love it when tech products from developing economies like India get set to take over the world! Kudos OML and Gunjan Arya.?
- On the AI side of things, Prediction is the name of the game! However, Web3’s existing prediction platforms only serve a portion of the total addressable market. On the other hand, with PredX, using cutting-edge AI innovation and other emerging technologies like blockchain you can create and promote events that appeal to you or your community. Web3 prediction markets thus get an additional incentive layer that’ll help obtain a critical mass in 2024.?
- On a personal front - I am excited!! Excited because I am just days away from a wild father-son hiking trip at 17000+ft with my teenager! Heading to Leh, Ladakh, this trip has been in the planning for some time now! More on this as I get closer to D-Day! Here’s a view of the view! :) I’d love some tips. Please do care to share!
- Speaking of Father-Son, here’s a Dad joke of the week - Why did the old man fall down the well? He couldn’t see that well. ??
