We process a lot of information every single day (some would say too much!). And when our brains have to work hard to understand a concept, we check out.??

To retain attention, you must present a clear, concise statement to your target audience. And to do this, you must truly understand your business. Only then will you be able to successfully communicate what you offer.?

Once you know what to say, you also need an effective strategy to share this message. This is where your marketing roadmap comes in.?

Sadly, too many new businesses neglect the strategizing phase of their trajectory planning. What a crucial error – without a strategically outlined marketing roadmap, there’s no telling where your marketing initiatives will lead your company!

As in every area of life, reaching your marketing goals requires planning.?

To get you where you want to be, I’ve outlined what it takes to create a winning marketing roadmap. Let’s dive in!?

Outline your core values and business goals.?

  • Include people from all levels of your organization in a brainstorming session. Maybe even consider inviting a few valued clients! Remember – respect fresh perspectives. Often, you’re too close up to see the whole picture. Outsiders can offer unique and valuable information about your organization.?

Shout your story from the digital rooftops!??

  • As you outline your roadmap, prioritize creating a prominent digital presence with consistent activity. Keep your story clear across all platforms, always.?

Track your effort.?

  • As is the case with any commitment, progress is the best motivator. Let clear, quantitative analytics guide you and your team(s).??

Know your target audience – well!?

  • Become intimately acquainted with your ideal client. Where do they shop, work, and live? What are their goals? What are their struggles, frustrations, and anxieties? How will your product/service alleviate these??

Always check in and make adjustments.?

  • Check in regularly on all teams involved, giving and taking feedback.?
  • Make adjustments to your roadmap’s trajectory, and take time to celebrate your accomplishments!?
