Create a slower pace of life with Cottage Core

Those of us of a certain age will remember the lyrics "Slow down, you move too fast. You've got to make the morning last..." by Simon & Garfunkel. And that's the theme behind the contemporary Cottage Core movement.
People are looking for a way to slow down and return to a way of life where they can find joy in the simple things, and Cottage Core provides that escape. It's pure nostalgia and the perfect elixir for a weary world looking for peace and quiet.
Even a skeptic like myself has been drawn into this decor craze! The traditional qualities of the French Country or English Cottage furnishings appeal to my love of Old World decor styles. The rustic counterbalance of worn furniture and plants makes this decor style feel humble and unpretentious.
What I like most of all about Cottage Core is that it's flexible. If you love whimsy, add in a bit of fairycore. If coastal is your thing, use furnishings that create a beach cottage aesthetic. Your interior could lean more into the clean, Shabby Chic style or go in the opposite direction with a colorful, eclectic look. So many possibilities!
