I recently saw a LinkedIn post that said you should never stop creating. Even in your down time, find some way to keep the creative juices flowing and to ensure that you're challenging yourself.
I also recently read a book called Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink & Leif Babin. Both of these encouraged me to find ways to take ownership, fill my time, and create.
At the end of the day I am in control of my attitude, my effort, & how I spend my time. As a typical 'type A' personality, I enjoy working, thinking, and pushing the envelope on accomplishing. However, I think it's extremely important to understand that you can accomplish a lot - but are you accomplishing things that align with the direction in which you want your career or life to go?
Here's an example. I have a goal to publicly speak. I would LOVE to attend large events, feel the energy, & speak life, motivation, & encouragement into likeminded, ambitious individuals. The question that remains is "How do I get there?".
Becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable, that's how.
I have always enjoyed writing, but the fear of judgement when posting publicly has historically stood as a mountain in front of me. Only within the last few years have I scaled that mountain and overcome that fear. Being able to confidently speak about the issues I excel in on social media is also one way to get free exposure. I noticed myself shying away from this though. WHY?

Why avoid something that could ultimately result in accomplishing a lifelong dream of public speaking? Fear. Limiting mindset. That's why.
& let me tell you - IT'S A LIE. You can, truthfully, physically, literally do anything you put your mind and effort into.
YOU are in charge of your life.
Realizing that I, too, can accomplish anything - helped me understand that fear is a liar and I refuse to let that control me in any aspect (unless, of course, someone asked me to jump off a cliff with no parachute...then I'll listen to that fear).
What is something you have wanted to do but let fear or a limiting mindset steer you away from? GO DO IT.
