Something we hear a lot about is ‘the ripple effect’. Especially when it comes to the good you want to do in the world, or the influence you have on others, there’s an understanding that the impact extends beyond what you can immediately observe.?
In everything we’re doing, we create ripples. The energy we bring to a conversation is received and transferred to their next conversation. The good deed we demonstrate becomes something that the people who benefited from it, or saw it, are more likely to do.
Like a stone dropped in a still pond, everything you do disrupts the current equilibrium and goes on to affect everything else. Even if the influence is small and subtle it offsets reality in such a way that things will never be the same. This goes for the good and not so good things, which is why we must always do our best to put our best self forward if we want to contribute to a better world.
However, something a lot of people underestimate about the ripple effect is the way that it comes back to you. Ripples on a still pond make their way to the shore and rebound back your way. The same ripple that you put out today returns to impact you later.?

So when you’re intentional about putting out positive ripples, you receive positive ripples. This then gives you greater conviction and ability to put out more positive ripples that return and so forth. Your efforts to consistently show up as a helpful, positive, encouraging person multiply over time as they grow on each other. But unfortunately it also means that your unconscious actions driven from fear and scarcity do the same and take your life in the wrong direction…
This is why awareness is so critical. With awareness you can choose how you show up. Improved choices lead to improved actions and therefore, improved ripples that come and go in your life.?
Intentionality is the key to a life well-lived, where you excel in your career, prioritize your health, have deeply moving experiences and relationships, and do it all.?
This concept reminds me of how LeBron James' philanthropic efforts have inspired a new generation of athletes to prioritize giving back to their communities, creating a lasting ripple effect that extends far beyond their playing careers. How do you think we can encourage more athletes to use their platforms for social good?
