Happy New Week Fam!
Like you, I cannot believe it’s the last week of June. If you are still up to it, take some time to evaluate your 2022 progress with these tools I shared two weeks ago .
The last 10 days felt like 3 years for me. So much happened within short periods of time that it’s only this morning that everything is coming together.
Ever hard so many magical experiences together that it’s overwhelming? Humans struggle to contemplate the infinite of our being. Hence when it meets us with miracles and wonders all at once, it’s easy to withdraw and question reality.
I am spending a lot of time lately on deserted beaches of the Indian Ocean. This creation is ecstatic, expansive and intoxicatingly beautiful. I sometimes find myself needing to retreat back home to connect with the whistles of the birds and green surroundings. These exquisite blue waters feel impossibly unreal. And then I catch myself, what is reality?
The good or the bad? The beauty or the not-so in our ego-limiting eyes? War and inflation or the potential to create a new consciousness??I like to think that our focus is our reality.
And right now when everything seems to be slipping away at rocket speed, it’s essential to focus on what gives one joy, what keeps one grounded and what feels meaningful. What is that for you?
I spent a couple of hours last week with my mastermind group. We spoke about all the mystical events that have conspired to bring us to this moment together. Our childhood, life choices, our career choices, our misfortunes, the moments we followed our curiosity towards the beaten path, and the people along the way. This conversation was well summarized with a quote I read over the weekend on Instagram...''Sometimes life gives you what you need so you can go after what you really want''.
Take a moment and reflect on that. What if everything. All your experiences, the positive and the painful ones have been conspiring to bring you to a moment when you make the choice to go after what you really want? Doesn’t this shift how you look at those experiences? The lessons you draw, the insights that guide you forward etc?
The common theme from our conversation was ‘following the things that pull us’ .
No matter how far off we digressed, for each of us, there was a common thread of 1-2 things. An interest, a curiosity, a strength, a talent, an idea, a fantasy of what could be, a wild imagination, a passion, a problem to solve, a tempting opportunity, something that draws our soul. No matter how much we have hesitated, it never left. It kept drawing closer. Taking various forms. Sometimes screaming for our attention.

All of us have this, 'It'
Some of us, have the courage to say yes, by taking the next one step. Especially when the rest of the plan remains unknown. Some of us take this thing that pulls us to the grave.
Les Brown says “The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.”
If this is the year you are committed to taking the next step in creating a meaningful life and career, and if you are wondering where to get started…wonder no more…
Start simple, small and silly. With the things that pull you.
An interest, a curiosity, a strength, a talent, an idea, a fantasy of what could be, a wild imagination, a passion, a problem to solve, a tempting opportunity, something that draws your soul. Get started, one tiny step. And then, take the next step.
